In Deep 25th August 2010

Old meets new in this week’s show..

The late 90s is basically where my house roots lie, so I’ll always return to tracks like “Sunday Session“, “Keep Sexy“, “Cosmic Wave” and “Tout est Bleu” as benchmarks for quality deep house. Pick of the newer stuff this week has to be Noraj Cue “Homesick” – A beautiful techy number which has just been re-released on a Colours of Tech house compilation. The Finski remix of “Guayota” is an all-conquering deep/tech house monster as well, and went down well with the good folks at The Boiler Room. The Reggie Dokes track “Love” is definitely a standout too – Not exactly a track you’d file under “easy” dancefloor material, it’s evocative, raw music that busts open the typical house music blueprint in much the same way that Underground Resistance does with techno.

Thanks everyone who came along to The Boiler Room in Second Life or listened in on Future Music radio. I think Art has plans to demolish the Boiler Room and rebuild next week, so we could be somewhere totally different.. We’ll keep you posted ;)
